Hey. My name is Sophie!
I live in Essex and have two amazing daughters, 14 and 16. I'm back in the UK now, but I spent 7 years living in Monaco and 2 years in South West Mallorca (Calvia).
Ex-pat life, out of the UK has been a really positive experience for myself and the girls. The weather made such a difference!. Sitting in the sun every morning with a coffee, is the best start to the day. The girls picked up the languages very quickly as well, which has really helped with their language studies back here.
Monaco was a fantastic place to live (Disneyland for adults!) and and I was lucky enough to see 5 live Grand Prix’s from the Hermitage Hotel in Monte Carlo, but the Balearics is my happy place! There are still places on the islands I’ve yet to explore, including Mallorca. Puerto Pollensa in the North of the island is so beautiful! Its a totally different vibe from the South. A humble, old fishing village turned thriving international community. Agatha Christie stayed ion the Hotel Illa d’Or in Pollensa in the 1930’s and it was the inspiration for her book, Problems at Pollensa Bay’!
Travel is such a blessing. When we travel it helps us to become more creative and accepting of new ideas. It makes us happy and takes us out of our comfort zone. So I am so happy to have this opportunity to be my own boss, doing what I love and still having the flexibility around my daughters. It is the perfect work/life balance.
2024 is definitely a year of planning some exciting trips. There’s a big wide world out there to explore …
