Jennifer Heavey
Hi my name is Jen, full name is Jennifer, which I only get called that if I’ve done something wrong, so when my mum and dad called me Jennifer, I knew I had done something wrong.
So, when I left school at a young age, I wasn’t called Jennifer, it was more we’ll support you on what you want to do so, I joined a youth-reach program which gave me life skills along with learning basic lessons.
I was giving the opportunity to travel to Canada for 6 weeks at the age of 16 for work experience. I came home and left Youth-reach and had my first baby at 17, I made the decision and went back to do my leaving cert applied, with youth-reach, to which I obtained the highest in my class, and worked ever since.
Always trying to make something of myself, each job with false promises of been giving a chance for a promotion, but never following through, only to be let go last October and only for that I wouldn’t of came across an opportunity like this, as they say one door closes and another one opens and I’m happy that it did.
So, I guess from the age of 16 I had the travel bug but never new it until I reached the age of 40. I love what I do now and the balance I have from working part time and putting every other hour I have into my travel business.
I’ve only joined since Feb 2023, and I am still learning but want to share the knowledge I have with new ITAs when they join.
